The second part provides a proper analysis of selected works available in Polish. The subject of this analysis are three stories by Kanovich, whose main characters are Polish, Lithuanian, Jewish and Russian, living in a common Vilnius yard.
Attention in these relations is drawn by the dominant role of the Polish woman and the Polish language in contacts between neighbours, and then the Jew, who after the death of the protagonist, takes over the role of an intermediary in the integration between nations. I have analyzed the parabolic elements of their stories. Both the text and the movie are about hiding a Jewish woman during World War II by a Polish married couple in a wardrobe in their flat.
Kolski adapted the text that was based on another story. I try to analyze how this universalist domain present in the reportage was transformed in an artistic way in the movie. The parabolic elements present in the text and in the film make it possible to reveal the cultural archetypes connected to the Holocaust.
The article explores Polish names of chosen video games achievements e. Diablo 3 series, Starcraft 2 and Goat Simulator paying special attention to paraphrases modified references to other cultural texts. The analysis indicates that intertextual modifications of achievements are most often created by substitution of one word comparing to the prototext.
Humorous and surprising paraphrases in names strengthen the emersive character of achievement systems. Among the secondary features, one can find the following: 1 meta-legal comments, 2 waivers, 3 recitals, 4 law legitimation, 5 indicating the vacatio legis period. The paper is a critical analysis of romance fiction in relation to parental structuresvisible in patriarchal codes and paternal tropes romance novels pivot around.
Various scattered writings published by the poet within a period of half a century provide a rich material containing explicitly formulated views on basic problems concerning poetry, its role, but also its values, meaning, and the specificity of a poetic word including the functions of rhymes or metaphors.
As a theorist and a poet, he considers the role of poetry and a poet, as well as the significance of beauty. He discusses with the arty idea of situating the poet above the world: poetry is not a value in itself and for itself , it emphasizes the value, but appreciates it only when it becomes an attempt at surpassing itself, when it opens up for the other and the reality.
Poetic language has to suit ordinary human life, as only then will it be able to control the chaos of reality. Despite the fact that the author of Mr. Cogito distances himself from the youthful optimism concerning the influence of poetry on the fate of the world and the progress of mankind, he does not cease to believe in its power to construct values and to reconstruct the morality of the world.
One of the most representative theme in the works of Lucian Blaga is knowledge and the way it is reflected in the unconscious. He is known for the different meanings given to this knowledge, proposing a new path for the understanding of everything around us, starting from the inner of human soul to the world genesis. The functions in question are: the Lion the thematic force , Mars the Opponent , the Moon the Helper , the Scale the Arbitrator , the Sun the desired good , and the Earth the receiver of the desired good.
The results of the analysis reveal the multitude of combinations of the given functions which are even multiplied by two or three in the specific situations, since most of the situations support two or three perspectives to the events taking place. This implies, therefore, that there are different combinations of functions for the same situation depending on the acquired point of view.
The analysis also pinpoints the additional function, the Preconditioned Sun, or the preconditioned good. When present, this new function, is considered necessary since it represents the condition that must be fulfilled in order for the desired good Sun to be given the possibility to be attained. Firmicus Maternus is an original writer among Christian writers of the 4th century. Instead of entering into theological disputes, he does not hesitate to express his own specific views on the bloody rites of various cults, which he perceives as a great personal, social and national threat.
This paper aims at establishing the utopian elements and at analysing how these elements become dystopian and how they influence the morals of the books. The Unknown also contains some frightening figures the grown-ups: the Queen of Hearts and Captain Hook and strange creatures with curious names. With Peter Pan, the focus will primarily be on Peter, but also on the Darling children.
